Contract management

Definition

Contract management is tracking and monitoring agreements with customers about prices, delivery terms, discounts and duration. In B2B, many sales terms run through long-term contracts rather than one-off transactions.

Agreements that outlast a single order

A contract often captures more than a price: validity period, minimum volumes, and terms for renewal or termination. Without good oversight, contracts expire unnoticed or outdated terms keep getting applied.

Connection to customer-specific pricing

The prices a customer sees in the web shop ideally come straight from the active contract, so an expired or changed contract automatically shows the correct price.

Practical example

A contract with a customer expires after two years. The system warns the account manager in time, so the terms get reviewed before the old prices keep running automatically.
