What's the difference between Fonda DAM and a shared drive like Google Drive or Dropbox?

A shared drive is a storage location. Fonda DAM is a working system. The difference lies in three things: on the one hand, assets in Fonda DAM are directly linked to products in your PIM, so that a product page always shows the right photos and documents — automatically. On the other hand, Fonda DAM is searchable by product attributes, not just by filename. A shared drive doesn't scale as your catalog grows.

What is the difference between Fonda DAM and an enterprise DAM such as Bynder or Canto?

Enterprise DAM systems are built for large organizations with dedicated content teams, complex rights structures, and comprehensive approval workflows. They cost tens of thousands of euros per year and require months of implementation. Fonda DAM is deliberately simpler: it offers the functionality that an SME of 20 to 300 employees really needs — central storage, PIM connection, version control and controlled remote sharing — without the complexity and cost of an enterprise solution.

What file types does Fonda DAM support?

Fonda DAM supports the most common formats for B2B product content: images (JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG), videos (MP4, MOV), documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX), technical files (DWG, DXF for technical drawings) and other formats on demand. For each file type, you can manage multiple variants — for example, a high-resolution version for print and a compressed version for web.

Is Fonda DAM free, or will there be a time when you have to pay?

Fonda DAM is included in Fonda Basic, the free version of the Fonda platform. There is no time limit on the free version, but there is a storage limit of 5GB. If you want to expand with additional modules — such as the PIM module for product descriptions and translations, a B2B webshop or a customer portal — you can switch to a paid subscription. How long does it take to set up Fonda DAM?

You create an account, upload your first assets, organize them into folders. There is no technical setup, no API configuration, and no deployment project necessary. You are operational on the day of registration.

What if my asset library is very large — thousands of files?

Fonda DAM is designed for catalogues of all sizes. For large libraries, the platform supports bulk uploads and structured imports from existing systems.
