Content syndication

Definition

Content syndication is automatically and consistently distributing product data, such as text, images and specifications, to external platforms like marketplaces, distributors or price comparison sites, from one central source.

One source, multiple destinations

Instead of supplying product information separately to every marketplace or partner, content syndication automatically pushes that data from one central system, usually a PIM.

Why consistency matters here

Without syndication, differences appear between your own web shop and external platforms: an outdated description in one place, a correct one in another. One source prevents that.

Practical example

A manufacturer updates a product description in its PIM. That same change automatically appears on its own web shop and with the distributors reselling its catalog.
