PunchOut
Definition
PunchOut is a technology that directly connects a company's procurement system (such as SAP Ariba or Coupa) with a supplier's webshop.
The buyer starts a session from their own system, shops in the supplier's catalog, and the populated shopping cart automatically returns for approval and processing — without manual entry.
PunchOut works via two standard protocols: OCI (commonly used in SAP environments) and cXML (the standard for Ariba and most other platforms).
